Invitation to Submit an Academic Paper to Be Printed in an International Conference

        The International Council of United Nation Day of Vesak (ICUNDV) calls for academic papers under the theme “Global Recovery: The Buddhist Perspective”. Papers are open to holistic research fields as well as academia revision on the following sub-themes:

Global Recovery through Mental Well-being

Global Recovery through Harmonious Co-existence

Global Recovery through Buddhist Ecology

Global Recovery through Buddhist Education

Global Recovery through Engaged Buddhism

        The review committee will select distinguished papers among those submitted for international publishing. The paper should contain an element of analysis on Buddhism and its application on other fields of knowledge that may be used to analyse or resolve contemporary global issues.

Papers should be in English; however, the review committee is willing to make exceptions for distinguishing papers submitted in Thai by writers who are unable to write in English. If the paper is selected, the working committee will translate it to English for publication in the United Nations Day of Vesak Journal.
The papers will be selected based on quality and cohesiveness with the theme and sub-themes at the 2010 conference. Every paper shall be subjected to review, improvement, or denial by circumstances. Denied papers may be advised for improvement and resubmission. The length of the Thai papers should use “Angsana New” font, no bigger than 16 points, and should not extend beyond 15 A4 paper. English papers should use “Time EXT Roman” (with symbols indicating Pali and Sanskrit words), no bigger than 12 points. All papers must show relevant citations. In addition, writers should submit a 500 word summary of the completed paper for website publication.
Additional Information: There may be more than one paper submission by a single academic. Papers will be selected and published for the United Nations Day of Vesak Conference 2010. Please send both the papers and abstracts in Word format to the International Association of Buddhist Universities (IABU).
