The Most Ven. Prof. Dr. Phra Dharmakosajarn: To promote the Conference of the United Nation Day of Vesak to the Centre of Global Buddhism.

         On 7th December 2009, The Most Ven. Prof. Dr. Phra Dharmakosajarn (Prayoon Dhammacitto), the Rector of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University and the Chairperson of the International Association of Buddhist Universities (IABU) scheduled a meeting with the Chairperson and Committee Secretary of the 7th Conference of the United Nations Day of Vesak at Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Rector’s Office, Ayutthaya.

         The Chairperson of the King’s Scholarship Project nominated Mr.Krerk Tangsangah, Secretary of the King’s Scholarship Project, to participate at the meeting on his behalf.

         The Most Ven. Prof. Dr. Phra Dharmakosajarn said, “The International Buddhist Conference on the Day of Vesak, the International Day of the United Nations 2010, will be hosted by Thailand during 23rd – 25th May 2010. The purpose of this conference is to develop Thailand to be the centre of global Buddhism and to develop MCU to be the world centre of Buddhist studies. This year, the Chairperson of the King’s Scholarship Project will be co-organiser of the event with Mahaculalongkornrajavidyalaya University.
